Before starting at Princeton Theological Seminary, Byron and Char made a commitment to curiosity in the questions of their faith. No strangers themselves to edgy and intriguing theological discourse, they felt a podcast would be an excellent way to chew on the fruit of their academic endeavors while weaving in the thoughts and perspectives they've picked up along the way. Their hope is to pick you up along the way for the theological journey of a lifetime.

Byron Walker (he/him), is thrilled to be sharing and learning here with you. A 4th generation missionary kid Byron grew up in Palestine, Jordan, Portland Oregon (US), Guam and a touch of East Africa. At some point along the way, he realized he was bisexual, adding to the lenses and drivers of his faith, in addition to an ecological and scientific approach. Byron seeks to follow in Jesus' footsteps as one who speaks truth to power and comfort to the hurt.

Char (they/them), or Fredrik as they're known on the West Coast, grew up in a Christian household but experienced God's transformative Love in their life on a service trip in 2011. Since then, they have sought to develop a sensitivity to systemic power and oppression, decolonize their faith, and lean into the dynamic spiritualities that are thriving in resilient resistance to oppression. Liberation theology, Black womanist theology, mujerista theology, and indigenous spiritualities are of particular interest to them.
